My husband and I stayed at San Simian for 2 1/2 days at the beginning of December before heading to San Juan del Sur. If we could have, we would have stayed here longer! It was such a great treat - the cabanas are comfortable, the lake was a dream for swimming and kayaking, and our hosts, Amanda and Victor... more

This is a wonderful place to stay with very kind new owners. My friend and I are staying at a nearby spanish school and we went out kayaking today in some terrible wind. We got blown to the San Simian dock, exhausted and defeated. One of the owners kindly let us stay and rest for as long as we needed.... more

We happend upon San Simian afetr our taxi driver dropped us in the middle of the jungle surrounding Laguna Apoyo. We couldn't have found a better place to spend our final day in Nicaragua. As soon as we arrivied and told the staff we wanted to get a "day pass" to use the facilities, they treated us as if we... more

The current management is very friendly and the service received at San Simian was excellent. They even went as far as to bring us beers while we were floating on the lake on their rubber rings (provided free). The rooms have fantastic views over the lake...which itself is a brilliant natural feature and the best place for a swim I... more

We truly enjoyed our stay at San Simian, the monkeys in the trees, the beautiful flowers, and of course the Laguna. Sailing, swimming, reading in the hammock, while the cervesa is brought to you, was so relaxing. Then gathering for meals up top was wonderful. Tasty enjoyable and plenty. we can't wait to go back. The owner Nancy is so warm and knowledgeable, also... more

The service was very good. The dinner and breakfast were excellent. The rooms were okay. Very clean, very safe, the lake very refreshing. I think the new managers Jamie and Marie will make a tremendous improvement in the San Simian Eco Lodge. They are very personable and made our visit very enjoyable and educational. more

For the price, this is not the best place in the area. Concept is nice but the cabins are just so so and beds are not very comfy. more

I stayed at San Simian with a couple of friends, renting three cottages. It's a lovely setting, with a great view, lots of comfortable chairs and hammocks, friendly and helpful staff and great food. As long as you avoid weekends and bank holidays (and thus noisy Nicas), you will have a quiet relaxing stay at San Simian. One important note:... more

we are just back from a vacation and we booked 1 night at San Simain. First of all positive things. Location is beautiful and staff friendly BUT for 2 American woman it is a little sad that they did not consider building one family cabin. We were charged 2 cabins or $100 for our family + taxes, + breakfast because... more

We stayed here for one night - one night too long. The owner spent all day, and then all night drinking with her buddies at the bar. With the stereo going all night (went off ~6am) - thump, thump, thump - pounding into our cabin, everywhere we went on the water... The bar was supposed to close at 8pm, but... more
