We didn't think we needed reservations in Granada but arrived to find Poet week going on. After three other hotels had no available rooms we stopped at Asia Latina to find a room with A/C was available and we took it. They'd raised the prices on their rooms $10-$15 a night for the week.
The location is great right on the main restaurant street, La Calzada, away from the noise of the Central Park area yet only 1-2 blocks away. The daytime receptionist is a Nica who grew up in the United States. He was friendly and very helpful to us and his presence made our stay there much more enjoyable.
The A/C worked but was very noisy! The room was spartan with only an overhead light in the ceiling fan, no lamps and one very small window above the A/C unit. We tried to sleep one night without the A/C unit on but the fan was also noisy and had only one slow to medium speed. The room had a small (maybe 13") TV set with cable and a remote that didn't work.
