Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I returned to Arromanche after a six year gap and once again chose to stay at Arroplace. That in itself is a reccomendation. Echoing what everyone else says the rooms are clean and tidy, the location is perfect and the host Jacques is excellent. Jacques sorted out a few logistical problems our group of 5 men touring the Landing beaches encountered. With the addition of free parking this really is the perfect place to stay when touring the Normandy beaches. Thanks once again Jacques for your help during our stay.

We stayed for two nights at Arroplace to visit the D-Day landing beaches and other sites in the area. The location is excellent and centrally located. Jacques is a wonderful host, very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are extremely clean and well equipped with water, tea, kettle etc. Our family room with two double rooms and a shared bathroom was the perfect accommodation for us as we were traveling with our adult son and girlfriend. Both rooms had plenty of space and a table and chairs for us to eat breakfast which we picked up at the bakery around the corner (amazing chocolate croissants). The private, free parking was very helpful to have as well. We highly recommend this lovely property.

Location superb, can't get nearer to the invasion beaches, and great central location for exploring the Normandy area. Basic room in the attic but has everything one needs and is very clean and quite charming, with great views of the beach. Breakfast offered at extra charge if required but we didn't partake due to special dietary requirements. You can eat in your room as there is a table and couple of chairs provided and a selection of drinks etc. Lots of tips for places to eat from the very genial host, Jacques. Free parking but tight to get into if in a big car but Jacques helps on how to approach it. Jacques very kindly left us a couple of drinks and snacks to celebrate our anniversary when he saw our anniversary cards in our room. This was a lovely gesture and very much appreciated. Overall the host Jacques and the location of this chambres d'hote made for a fabulous stay.

My wife and I had an absolutely fabulous time staying at Arroplace during the week of the 74th Anniversary of D-Day. Our room overlooked the beach which was stunning. You could feel the chill through your bones thinking about what the brave soldiers went through when they stormed Gold beach on June 6th, 1944. You could not get any closer for the spectacular fireworks show on the night of the 6th which took place on the beach. By far the best display we have ever seen anyplace in the world. Jacques was the perfect host and catered to our every need. We can't say enough about his hospitality.

Probably a decent pick for a place where, aside from D-Day activities, there's absolutely nothing to do. The view on the Normandy beaches is terrific and draws you right into the historic setting, and the host is very friendly and will stop at nothing to please his guests. The facilities are just fine, and the old and dusty beds, curtains and furniture do have a certain charm, but they just don't quite justify the prices that this place charges.

Response from ARROPLACE, Propriétaire at Arroplace
Responded 24 May 2018
Jacques

This lovely B&B in Arromanches made the perfect location to base ourselves on our motorbike tour of the Normandy landing beaches. Arroplace offers secure bike parking and a garage to store all our biking paraphernalia and also a drying room which fortunately we did not need! Jacques, our charming host made us feel very welcome and gave us some useful suggestions on routes and places to visit during our short stay. Lots of restaurants and bars within a couple of minutes walk away.

We stayed at arroplace one night, arriving on a Sunday. If you haven't been to France in August on a Sunday, there isn't alot going on for transportation. Luckily, the owner Jacques agreed to meet us at the train station. He gave us a little tour of Bayeux and the surrounding area while driving back. He really went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. The place is magnificent, right at the beach and in the heart of the town. Also, next to the D-Day museum. The rooms were private and spacious, and the vibe was great. And I proposed to my girlfriend on the hill overlooking the area. It was perfect.

Jacques is the perfect host and ambassador for Arromanches Normandy. Parking and views from this quaint B&B were restful and stress reducing. We stayed two nights and used Arromanches as are base for touring of Normandy.
