This was the best hotel room I have ever stayed in. It was in the old castle itself, NOT the "kitchenette wing" about which the first reviewer complained bitterly and which I did not see. We stayed at this Relais and Chateaux property with our two children in July and had a wonderful time. We had a very nice suite of rooms overlooking the pool, towards Mt. Canigou in the Pyrenees. We stayed three days in the Chateau de Riell in August 2004. We have a fine room in the chateau building himself with great looks to the mountains. The food in the restaurant was good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. more
