Ate in the restaurant of the Hotel. Very good German food, and very good service. I would repeat the experience. more

The Hotel Altkolnischerhof is a nice hotel, and reasonably-priced. A charming historic building, with a nice restaurant on the ground floor. The room was basic, but cheerful and clean, and we had a really lovely balcony. The hotel is located right in the center of the pretty little village, is shielded from the train noise, and is within easy walking... more

Bacharach is a great place to explore, and this hotel was both spacious and of good value. As others have commented, the hallways do get dark because the lighting is on an automatic timer. We came back to the hotel "after hours" and kind of felt like we were intruding because it was so dark and quiet. But I guess... more

Absolutely the best place to stay in Bacharach. Bacharach is a tiny gorgeous town on the Rhine and our favourite place to be based to do the Rhine cruise. It is such a beautiful old hotel but the rooms looked like they had been rennovated in the last few years. You simply HAVE TO get a room with a balcony.... more

This hotel is perfectly situated in the center of Bacharach, away from the train tracks (noisy, I imagine, for those staying in hotels closer to the Rhine, as we saw trains going by about every 10 min!) and overlooking the main square. Parking was available (free in designated spots away from the hotel, or 5 Eur in a locked garage)... more

This is a lovely hotel, old but from what we could tell quite updated. Our room was clean and spacious, with a balcony (worth the extra bucks!) and a nice bathroom. Lovely bedding -- I'd say all real down and quite luxurious. There is a lift. The hotel restaurant is excellent, if a bit dressier than a lot of places... more

Beautiful hotel with the picturesque exterior. We received a room with a balcony that had two comfortable chairs and a table on it. The beds were comfortable and the shower had good water pressure. The breakfast was great, with lots of choice in a lovely dining room. There was boiled eggs, cereals, fruit, breads, yogurts and multiple types of juices.... more

We were a little nervous about booking this hotel after seeing the other reviews on trip advisor. However, it was recommended in Rick Steve’s Germany, so we gave it a try. We’re so glad we did; it was a great hotel in a quaint little fairy-tale town. The hotel was located next to the church and it was lovely to... more

We stayed at this Hotel in 1992 and again in May, 2003. We were extremely pleased with the service, the cleanliness, and the room . There were 3 of us and we had Rooms 16 and 17 which were adjoined by a bathroom but each bedroom could be closed off for more privacy. These rooms have been updated and are... more

Bacharach is tiny village about six blocks by two blocks. It is cute like all of them along the Rhein, including St. Goar and Boppard but the Hotel Altkolnischer is pretty poor. It was a little over $110 for a room. The house is very old. The room was clean but the carpet was about thirty years old and marbled... more
