I arrived for my first visit in September of 2008, after a train ride from Frankfurt Airport at about 9:00 PM due to plane delay earlier in the day. It was dark and I was not sure where to go from the train station so I called the hotel for directions. A man answered and told me to wait there... more

Stayed here for 2 nights, room was very small with no view & hot as sun shines directly into room. Also hotel very noisy from the restaurant. Would not stay here again. more

My husband, son and I stayed three nights in June, 2008. We booked the "half board" option, which included a daily breakfast and nightly three course dinner, for a little over 100 Euros per night. It was an unbelievably good value. The food was delicious--authentic German cooking done extremely well. Our room on the top floor at the back of... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Rhein Hotel in Bacharach for two nights this April. We found the staff to be very friendly, the room spacious and clean and the food amazing. We booked a package which included breakfast and a 3-course dinner meal for each night we were there. On Tuesdays the restaurant is closed, but they make... more

We loved our stay at the Rhein hotel. The owner of the hotel also owns a restaurant and he is the main chef there. The breakfast each day was amazing and we felt as if we were treated like royalty. The rooms were not spectacular but they were spacious, comfortable, and clean. Yes, this hotel is right on the by... more

Roomy, clean and pleasant. The trains were a surprise as nowhere had I seen them mentioned. Rick Steve's pointed be to this place and if you tell them, you get a nice discount on the room making it really very hard to complain about anything. They do provide ear plugs, but it wasn't a problem. They've added double doors/windows which... more

Our group stayed in two of the Rhein Hotel's rooms. We all were very, very pleased! It met and then exceeded every expectation. The price was incredibly reasonable. I have to say, starting off, that I have no recollection of the trains whatsoever being any sort of nuisance. I asked my traveling partners, and they had no complaints either! Maybe... more

You have got to be kidding. Located directly on the train tracks and the trains roar through every 10 or 15 minutes all night and all day long. You would need to be totally deaf to get more than 5 mins sleep at a time. Try the lovely Alt Koelnischer Hof on the square which has been blessed by buildings... more

The Rhine Hotel is a beautiful independently owned hotel and restaurant. It is nestled against the old city walls with views over the Rhine on one side and out across the town, vineyards and castle on the other. The rooms are well decorated and clean if a little small, double glazed, and most have air conditioning. All the staff are... more

We stayed at the Rhein Hotel July 6, 2005 through July 8, 2005 and we were incredibly impressed. First of all, we were impressed with the Rhine region. It is truly as charming as it has been depicted by artists, historians, and authors over the years. We were greatly pleased to stay at a hotel that matched the region's charm.... more
