My wife and I had been to Bacharach several times previously but had always stayed in cheaper digs. The Park Hotel had only one room available when we arrived at a cost of 140 Euros but it included a large sitting room with a view of the Rhine, a good-sized bedroom, and a modern bathroom. We asked and received free parking next to the hotel (usually not available in Bacharach). The rooms were clean, had comfortable furnishings, and were well lighted. The TV had some English channels, Everyone was most helpful and accomodating. They speak excellent English but allowed us to speak German (when we persisted). The restaurant was excellent and a good value with lots of choices on the menu including a nice listings of local wines at 15-30 Euros per bottle. The breakfast was included in the price and provided a large variety of items including eggs. Bacharach is a small town and the hotel is located in the middle of the old center.
