I agree with the other reviewers. This is a great low cost hotel very close to the main street of Bacharach. Very clean. Great views. Very quiet. Nice owner/manager. Good breakfast. Fairly basic--don't expect any expensive toiletries in the bathroom--just basic liquid multi-purpose soap. Bring euros with you -- cash only here. more

The Malerwinkel is a perfect place to stay and within a five minute walk to the train station and center of town. I am glad I chose it after reviewing this site and also Rick Steves book. We had a fantastic stay at this Pension. Beautiful pension/B&B on the edge of the city. No train noise whatsoever. We slept very well. 5-minute walk to the center of town, train station, restaurants, boat docks. Beautiful backyard where you can arrange your own picnic or just have a beer. We enjoyed this hotel as it is clean and quiet. Breakfast is meats, cheese, yogurt, etc., the usual European hotel breakfast, and it was very substantial. We had a room facing the parking lot and it was quiet at night; we could hear the stream nearby. Although not in the center of town, it is only a short walk there.... more

We arrived after a long flight and what a lovely surprise, this place was amazing, it was everything we wanted and more, the staff were great the breakfast was A+ excellent value for money and the town and the restaurants were wonderful. more

The Pension im Malerwinkel is beautifully located in a quiet, bucolic area of Bacharach. We could hear the nearby stream all night. The walkway to the hotel is quite beautiful in an unpretentious way. The rooms and breakfast were quite large. The price was the bargain of our trip. Regards, Gary more

We stayed there last year and were very pleased. Good size rooms, very clean, great quiet location and a good value. We were particularly impressed with the breakfast selection, several notches above even a nice hotel. You could tell they aimed to please!
