This was our 8th visit to Naxos. On previous visits, we stayed in St Georges, and took the bus each day to Plaka for the beach. As this year we were travelling with two small children (3 years/6 months) we decided it would be easier to stay in Plaka, but take the bus into town on occassional evenings (there is a bus every half hour from 8am to midnight both ways, and the bus stops right outside the hotel). We also had the convenience of being able to go back to our room from the beach, for example, to make lunch.

There is a dirt road that runs the length of the sea front which runs south from Agia Anna, passing through Plaka - on one side of the road is the beach, on the other side is the Three Brothers Taverna. Many visitors to Plaka will be familiar with the Three Brothers Taverna - the rooms are located immediately behind this.
