We 4 Aussie baby boomers stayed at Astir of Naxos for 3 nights in June 2008. After being reluctant to leave Mykonos we found Naxos to be equally fascinating and the Astir excellent value for money. As others have said, it's a short walk from the beach (but the pool is excellent) and you have options for which route to... more

All in all a thoroughly good stay. We travelled from Gloucester, flights from Gatwick to Athens and thhen connecting with the Pireaus ferry. All of this went without a hitch both ways and was all booked independently of a travel agent. (Making a good saving). The Port of Naxos 'bustles' when the ferry arrives and we were so tired that... more

The Astir of Naxos is a clean, quiet, and new hotel on the edge of town but within walking distance of Chora. We found the distance of 20-30 minutes walk to be a bonus. You may find the hotel lacks a bit in charm because of its newness. There is a grocery store very near by where you can buy... more

In June we had a lovely stay at Astir of Naxos and this for the second time in two years. It gave us total satisfaction. Apart from the a safety protection of the swimming pool nothing did change comparing with last year. Correct management by Mr. Michalis Margaritis, who is dealy present and doing the utmost to help the guests... more

I stayed in this hotel following a recommendation. It is quietly situated a few minutes walk from St.George beach (with numerous cafes and tavernas) and 15-20 minutes walk from the town centre via the beach boardwalk and back roads. The architectural style (low rise, cubist) is appealing and the grounds well landscaped ,with plenty of shrubbery to provide a screen from neighbouring properties.The... more

Very nice hotel, very clean, lovely pool! Breakfast is ok, seen better at other hotels in the Cyclades. About 3 minute walk to Agios Georgios beach and 15 minute walk to waterfront in Naxos Town, so it's convenient, no need to take the bus to go to town. The street-road to come back at night may seem a little scary... more

As the title of this suggests, this hotel was the best of the 5 we stayed in whilst island hopping. It really was excellent. Staff were excellent, very helpful and eager to please. Rooms were very clean and very modern as far as Greece goes, although they need to sort their hairdryers out. Spacious with a large balcony. Some rooms... more

The Astir of Naxos was our final hotel at the end of a two week island hopping holiday. Despite having a wonderful time and loving the islands I was desperate for a bed that wasn't like a concrete slab and a pillow that was slightly softer than a brick (all we had experienced to this point). it was with great... more
