An unpretentious but nice hotel. We had a pleasant dinner in the hotel, since it is a few miles out of town and we had just flown into Sicily that morning so were tired and did not feel like driving into Piazza Armerina.
The really great advantage of this hotel is its location 1 km. from the Roman villa so that you can get to the site before the crowds arrive in the morning. And crowds there will be! We walked to the site the afternoon we arrived and found the crowds so thick that we could hardly get into the buildings. The road was lined with tour buses and cars. This was in May, out of season, but it did happen to be the Week of Culture when admission to all the Italian state museums is free, so perhaps that is one reason for the large number of visitors.
