We agree with the last reviewer who also rated the property as terrible. I was misguided by the good reviews and can only guess that a few of the rooms are better than the room we got. Our hallway had terrible odor, the permanent type like from mold. We hated to stay and were glad to leave. more

I arrived in norfolk and planned to stay at this place...until we saw it. My wife and I and my mother were in town due to the death of my brother. Our friend picked us up from the airport and we went to the hotel. Just by looking at the place we knew it would not be acceptable. It was... more

I am so sorry that you did not give our inn a chance. As you can see from the other reviews on our site, most guests realize that they are getting all of the features of a full service hotel at a motel's price. In the future, if you have any plans to return to Norfolk, I would be happy...

This is the first time I have stayed at an Americas Best Value Inn. This property on Military Highway far exceeded my expectations. I had a large, modern, and clean room in the Bug Sur Lodge. The property is divided into 5 or 6 buildings, each with its own name. In the center of it all is the clubhouse with... more

This hotel is pretty good value for the money. The free continental breakfasts are good with decent variety and it's easy to fill up. Our room was decently clean. The staff could have been more polite, but they weren't too bad. When I called for an extra towel, someone came to my door within 10 minutes. We didn't use the... more

This is an exterior entrance type motel and our room was on the second floor. It was conveniently located near the expressway but we did not have any problems with noise, etc. The checkin staff was pleasant but a bit overwhelmed. Only one person was on duty. Our room did not have any TP so we called down twice, then... more

Spent 1 night here on way back from North Carolina. The location was great, right off of the highway. Also the room and bathroom were big, but it was very dirty and smelled in the hallway. Right across the hall were smoking rooms. Why wouldn't they have all non-smoking rooms on the same floor?! The staircase also smelled. If I... more

Quite a large property, with several blocks of rooms arranged around the fitness centre and outdoor pool. It fronts a busy highway, and the front desk was very helpful in allocating me a room away from the busy road, and facing inwards towards the pool. This was helpful as the room was quiet overnight. Thanks, front desk Lady! (Pool still... more

I was very happy with this hotel. The staff was very friendly and check-in was easy. There was plenty of parking. We were there for a conference near another hotel, so although it isn't very close to downtown Norfolk, it was near where I needed to be. And not a long drive downtown, either. It's in a retail area, on... more

If you are looking for an economical hotel that caters to its guests - this is the one for you! This was the first time my husband and I stayed at this hotel. We went to Norfolk to visit my son and his family. Don't believe the older reviews written about this hotel. We found our room to be clean... more

The resort was great. Large clean room with refrigerator, desk and table. Totally private bath and sink. Modern air conditioning and a great pool area. We entertained 8 grown children, siblings, parents and spouses around a sparkling clean pool. We did dinner at the attached Grate Steak House and it too was awesome. We would definitely recommend this location. It... more
