Four of us stayed at Quinta Lamelas, one of two villas that Quinta de la Rosa winery rents out, they also have bed and breakfast rooms at the winery itself. The quinta de la rosa is a great romantic vineyard. Located in a gorgeous corner of the douro valley with nice rooms, great food and a cozy pool. Great staff and a very relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Very recomendable. more

The Quinta de la Rosa is a working winery that offers bed and breakfast accomodations. The rooms (we took the Suite Dona Clara - 115 Euro) were rather tired, but had a lot of homey knick-knacks about and a stunning (but small) terrace directly overlooking the river. Recently stayed at the Quinta and found the location to be marvellous! We had a room in the upper area - on the same level as the lovely terrace. This is a lovely location but beware, you are advised not to drink water from the taps, and so you have to either provide your own or continually trek up to the restaurant area to get some. The same with tea and coffee. The breakfasts are basic but pleasent - try their almond jam- outstanding! Evening meals (optional) are basic... more

This is the second time we have visited here in two years, the rooms are very comfortable, the scenery looking out over The Douro is out of this world, and the meal is always worth booking.(very good value as it includes wine and port) Good breakfast and as always a free tour and wine tasting. Although the room we stayed in was more than a little tired, we loved our stay at Quinta de la Rosa. I believe they have some rooms that have been built quite recently, so it might be a good idea to ensure that you get a room in the new(ly renovated?) building.
