I booked this hotel for my honeymoon in 2019 for June 2020. I was charged €370 and received an email shortly afterwards that my booking had been cancelled. I have emailed the hotel many times asking for a refund or a credit, none of my emails have been answered. I want my money back, and am very disappointed with the way this matter has been handled.

The Ca'n Reus is a small hotel. Very small. Only seven rooms small. But it's big on everything else. Set in a quiet back street (no cars) it looks out onto olive terraces and high mountains. It's very quiet. We were woken up by the sounds of chicken and goat bells tinkling in the valley. Our room (Alfabia) is on the top floor and looks out onto this fabulous mountain view, catching the early morning sun. The hotel provides a terrific buffet breakfast that changes every day, and the terrace in the small garden is very tranquil. There is a small pool that's also quite deep so it's perfect for cooling off. We were helped with restaurant reservations and there's a lounge with books and games.

The hotel occupies a very attractive Modernist house built in the early 19th century by one of the wealthy fruit growers that populated the region and has a beautiful view of the nearby slopes and mountains to the rear. The 'hotel' does not really function as a hotel but more as a bed and breakfast establishment. Staff are only on-site 9.00 am-3.00 pm and the only meal available is breakfast. There is an honesty bar but prices are the same as the nearby bars. Our room (Sa Ratata) was a bit small for more than a couple of nights (we stayed 8) and was quite dark we did attempt to move rooms , but this was apparently not possible.. It was described as having a 'village view' but actually looked over the narrow street and straight into the opposite property. The garden has a pool which is rather small, no more than 5.0 m long and is generally fairly uncared for with dead/overgrown trees/shrubs. Unfortunately on the last night of our stay we discovered that the room was home to bedbugs that bit us to pieces, not a happy way to end the visit! We made the manager aware as soon as possible but there was a reluctance to take this on-board which was disappointing. In summary the internet details/images are a little deceiving and there is a general sense that the place needs taking in hand with a more personal service. Our stay was probably too long but we were expecting more of a 'hotel' experience.

We have been to Ca'n Reus several times. It has certainly changed since Sue owned it but it is still a lovely hotel in a beautiful location. On this occasion there were two of the loudest families staying and the service has gone downhill. It might be time to find a new hotel in the wonderful village of Fornalutx!

We had a great couple of days at Can Reus hotel. Fornalutx is located in one of the most beautiful places in Mallorca and is a ‘must see’. The hotel has a personal, genuine and very welcoming atmosphere. There is a pool in a nice little garden. The rooms are perfect for light sleepers - comfortable bed, very dark and quiet - and our room had a fantastic view facing the mountains. We highly recommend the hotel and will definitely come back.

We had a great time at Ca'n Reus from start to finish! Spent four nights with the family in this beautiful picturesque hotel. Very genuine, lovely design, combined with modern high quality facilities. The hotel is right in the middle of Fornalutx and you feel like a local staying at Ca'n Reus. We can highly recommend the hotel and hope to return!

A lovely few nights spent at Can Reus. Tucked away in a side street it was not initially easy to locate however that was us rather than the directions given. Free parking is available in the village 100 metres away which is worth noting. The staff were free and helpful. A good breakfast is provided with variety each day which was appreciated as we were staying 5 nights. Our room was a small one on the top floor and was hot. Air conditioning was available but it was too noisy for a light sleeper and the street outside was busy at the weekend and noisy too. There is a small pool with deckchairs and loungers which was adequate for our needs which maybe more casual usage than most.

This hotel very much runs on its own with management and staff around in morning until 2/3pm. This is breakfast, check in : check out and and cleaning time. The rooms are beautiful, the hotel quiet, the pool lovely. It is a clean, neat, quaint hotel... no frills... no restaurant, no waiters etc There is an honesty bar, but it is also cheap and very easy to buy from the supermarket round the corner. Never saw the owners. There is a living room on the first floor with some board games, books and tv. Views amazing.

We had a wonderful stay at the Can Reus Hotel. It is a little gem in the middle of the village with very charming atmosphere and stunning views of the beautiful surroundings of Fornalutx. The owners and the staff are amazing, they were so friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The rooms are cosy and tastefully decorated with very comfortable beds. Last but not least, the breakfast is excellent, with a variation of delicious local foods that we could enjoy on the terrace. Can Reus is like a home away from home, it is the perfect place to relax and explore the island. We loved our stay and will hopefully be back soon. Thank you!

My experience of the hotel (we stayed here for a week) has been truly amazing. Fortnalutx is a great quiet base to explore the west of Majorca, there's so many things to do and to see. Hotel Ca'n Reus really fits in well with the atmosphere the little village radiates: relaxed, easy-going and very picturesque. As a previous reviewer noted, the owners of the hotel were there with their kids for a couple of weeks in June as they had time off (they live elsewhere in the same street). To us this wasn't disturbing at all. The kids occasionally use the pool and hang around the reception area. The owners are very considerate and asked us if we were ok if they would use the pool occasionally. The kids were all very well behaved and lovely and it gave the hotel/b&b a real homely character which we personally loved. If you had an issue you could always address it with one of the owners personally. For example, if you thought the kids were loud (which they weren't) they would always follow up and do something about it. One of the owners - a keen hiker - invited the guests to hike one of the Tramuntana mountains. Being our group guide, he organised it all himself. Supplying us with water, transport and good local knowledge of the area. All at no extra costs. We - about 8 of us in total - went out about 6.30am and came back around 11am. His wife and the staff made sure breakfast was served later for us and all ready. It was nice to get to know the other guests of the hotel and a feel of the mountains. We personally really enjoyed it. It also shows their hospitality and the owners willingness to give the guests a great experience at their hotel. Really prepared to go the extra mile. To sum it up, the message I want to get across is that this hotel / B&B has a lovely character and a real homely feel. On our occasion this was reinforced with the presence of the owners and their kids. I believe they stay there sometimes for a month (although they live elsewhere in the street). It has a bit of a family feel to it, but that said we where a youngish couple (30) and we felt really welcome and looked after.
