We stay regularly when visiting family, and recommend it highly. The Castle Lodge is on a pleasant leafy out-of-town street, but easy to reach - we don't drive, so walk from Newport - and very close to Carisbrooke village, the castle, and bus routes. The accommodation is clean and comfortable, with well-designed relaxing decor in the bedrooms and a bright... More

I have to agree with some of the other reviews - not the friendliest B&B we've ever stayed at. Before being shown our rooms we had to sign to say all damages must be paid for & pay in full (although had been mentioned when booking). Castle Lodge was clean (although having watched 'Four in a bed' I did run... More

We stayed over the weekend and can honestly say that we could not have picked a better place . Castle Lodge impesses as soon as you drive up to the premises-kerb appeal with abundance. Avril welcomed and showed us to the room. This was decorated beautifully and had a sliding door leading onto a small private enclosed patio. The breakfast... More

We stayed for one night only - the evening before the Isle of Wight Festival. We were given the family room even though there were only 2 of us. Spacious, well decorated and fresh smelling! The bed lined was crips white and the bed very comfy. Avril was very friendly and helpful during our stay and the breakfast she cooked... More

I stayed here for one night, it was a really lovely place. I paid £45 for one night in a double room which was immaculately decorated in a modern style and spotless. Clean functional bathroom with nice fixtures and a great power shower. The breakfast was included in the price and was really good- the full works with cereal and... More

15 minutes walk from the busstation, centrally located on the island. Great hospitality!!! We were delayed, but Avril the hostess, stayed up and was very friendly all the way. Gave tips for trips, was willing to call a car rental, book a diner in a restaurant and handed out several maps of the island. Breakfast was good, room were OK.... More

We only stayed one night, but really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were sumptuous and really did feel like home from home! Breakfast in the morning was lovely! Everyone was really friendly, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone! More

We stayed at Castle Lodge for 5 nights. Avril was very welcoming, informative and helpful. Our breakfasts were ample, in fact we had to ask for 1/2 portions in the end. Our room was clean, looked newly decorated and was very pleasant indeed. The B&B was ideally located for our purposes and there was adequate parking facilities outside the premises.... More

Stayed for 4 nights at the begining of November and had a great stay. Recieved a friendly greeting and was able to check in quickly. The room was warm & clean, and the bed was comfortable. Come nighttime it was dead silent with no artificial light shining through the curtains. Breakfast was excellent and served quickly. There is free Wi-Fi... More
