Small friendly hotel on small, quiet Scottish island 3 miles off the west coast on the Kintyre peninsula. 20 minute crossing from mainland on regular Calmac ferry. Locally sourced produce used in our kitchen, also local products sold within the hotel. Just 2.5 hours from Glasgow.

Came to Gigja for a day trip, looking forward to a drink in the bar and lunch as usual. Hotel is closed. Nothing obvious on their website or hotels.com. Bit of a wasted trip. Could at least put a sign up or something. Maybe gone bust as looks like it’s been stripped out inside, or having renovations.

Stayed at the hotel for a long weekend in early March 23. Clean and comfortable hotel, the food was fresh and generous, the supporting staff couldn't do enough. But the attitude of the manager was dissmisive, arrogant and condescending. Spoiling the whole experience. We will be back to this beautiful wee island... but not to the hotel, unless the management is changed.

I’ll mannered slovenly host behind reception treats his guest with contempt . Unfortunately this one dismal male character makes for an unpleasant experience and best avoided. Restaraunt staff are lovely cheery and efficient and the island setting fantastic.

The people are so friendly and the staff are brilliant. Food is all local and the chef even cooked us something very special as a treat when we asked. Rooms warm comfortable and well appointed would strongly recomend. Second visit last year will be going again.

Aggressive owner who made us feel very uncomfortable when we questioned charges he had put on the invoice (which he then removed). Room quite dirty. Staff in cafe were lovely, very sweet and friendly.

Fabulous room, fabulous food..friendly staff. Was truly great experience. Was there for work but it definitely didn't feel like it. A community working together and talking and promoting eachother. The rain was heavy at times bit you have to accept that from islands and Scotland but the welcome and hotel was warm

So impresses by this place. It was busy when we arrived but the staff were so accommodating. One of the party of 4 was vegan and one was GF and vegan. They catered for us all and the food and service was fabulous. It was such a nice experience and on that basis I cant wait to return and stay in the hotel. Thanks again to brilliant staff.

We stayed two nights with our two dogs and had a fabulous break. Ken, Andzela and their staff are very welcoming and friendly as well as very dog friendly! The food is amazing though I couldn’t manage a cooked breakfast because the dinners were so good! Gigha is a lovely island and small enough to feel like you can get to know it in a couple of days. Lots of lovely walks with the dogs, lots of eating and drinking. What’s not to love! Highly recommended!

Our first time on Gigha and We spent two nights at this lovely little hotel which is perfectly situated on this beautiful island. Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed was large and really comfortable. It also has some fabulous outside space with a large beer garden which has outstanding views. For us, the food was amazing and we particularly enjoyed all the lovely seafood. We were so well looked after by their warm and welcoming staff, particularly Adam as head chef and Dimitri behind the bar. They are doing so well upgrading everything and coming back from all the challenges from the last few years. We will certainly be back, it was a real find for us.

To begin positive. The Food served is of good quality. Isle of Gigha is amazing. We can recommend a bike trip, Achamore gardens. The Island is magic. As if the world turns a little bit slower. Ideal to relax. However, the hotel is heavily out dated and overpriced. The standaards of the 50s. And that's a shame. We hope the Community invests more in this Hotel (e.g. Coll Hotel at the Isle of Coll). This island deserves a better Hotel.
