It is very offputting for visitors to Perth to be greeted with the prospect of paying over the odds for shoddy accomodation, but that is what you get in this city as I was continually told that 'there is less accomodation than demand'. The Indian Ocean Hotel is well past its sellby date. Built in the early 70's it looks as if none of the fixtures and fittings have been upgraded since.
