The i-site booked the Martinborough Experience for us as a place to stay between Napier and Wellington. In retrospect, I would have stayed in Greytown or somewhere along the main highway. We got to Martinborough late in the evening - really quiet place! We were surprised given the reviews of the town. The rooms at the B&B were spotless, but very basic. The setting was very quiet. The highlight was definitely breakfast - they cook a good omelet! more

A lovely self contained B&B; we had the room with a whirlpool bath, which was lovely. The rooms are fairly sizeable and there is good parking. The B&B is only a 10 min walk to the centre where you will find some great restaurants and places to sample the Martinborough wines. The breakfast is lovely and you have the choice of continental or cooked, which you choose the day before and they bring it to your room or you can have it on the veranda in the sun! The owners are very friendly but you may have to pay a deposit in advance, depending on the season, if you are international you may not - just ask. Highly recommended. more
