Great place to stay in Martinborough. The hotel is magnificently restored and has everything you need. We had a garden room and it was a good size with large bathroom and full size claw foot bath. Bed was huge and had seriously good linen. Minibar was well stocked and laffare coffee and plunger was a bonus. Very well located right... more

This is a nice hotel with very nice clean rooms and good size bathrooms. However the pictures of the actual building are very misleading, they show the hotel to be built on a green field surrounded only by grass, when in actual fact it's on a street corner in the town! I cant even understand how they managed to get... more

A very nice hotel, conveniently located for visiting the vineyards in the area. The restaurant is excellent, both for breakfast and dinner. Make sure to get a room on the second floor where you can sit outside on the veranda to try your wine. No elevator or help with the luggage more

This was our second stay at this property. The first time we stayed in a room in the main building and this time in a room in the side buildings. The rooms in the main building are nicer but smaller. The bathroom in the side building was basic with a chipped bath and generally lacking in quality. If we went... more

We stayed a night at Peppers and it was the worst of our holiday. It was the most expensive hotel of our holiday and definately no value for money!!! The staff were standoffish and rude. The room was just old - bad heating, awful shower, toilet would not flush. We were very disappointed and had a higher expectation of what... more

My husband and I stayed here over Easter weekend. It is a great location if you want to visit the vineyards during the day and then not have to drive at night after you've been out to dinner. Each room is named and decorated differently which is a nice touch. We were in the Wharekaka room, which was a really... more

I am pleased to say that after reading the previous two reviews before we went away that standards have certainly not dropped. We stayed here the first week in January for one night as part of an 18 day self drive tour but wished we had stayed longer. The hotel is within easy walking distance of most of the local... more

What a pleasure to come across a hotel where everything works. In atmosphere and style it is not dissimilar to an English country house style of hotel but, whereas so many of that particular breed fail to deliver what they promise, this hotel delivers in spades. Service (both reception and for breakfast/dinner) was polite, efficient and courteous (without being servile).... more

We stayed here in July and were very impressed by the fabulous hotel building and the gourmet food. The decor and original features of the building are stunning. Our two rooms were set in a lovely, quiet courtyard garden setting at the rear of the hotel and compared favourably with top hotels we have stayed in around the world. The... more
