I stayed at this hotel in early April, and awoke around 1 a.m. because of noise from police radios in the parking lot. It wasn't until the next day that I found out what happened... a man who had just checked in with his two adult sons was shot by four armed men in a robbery attempt. In a newspaper report, they said the police had been called to this property 80 times in the last year for many different sorts of problems.

This hotel is only a short distance from the Richmond VA airport and many people use it as a place to stay if they are catching an early flight, as I was doing.

If you want to take your chances and stay here anyway, be prepared for mediocre rooms. The carpet could really use a good cleaning, as could the bedspreads. The bathroom was OK, but the towels were a bit thin and should have been replaced by now. I could not hear noise from other rooms, though airplane noise can be a bit of a problem.
