We spent 3 nights at the Sugar Tree Inn in July 2008. What a pleasure. Our bed in the Appliacian Room, I can only describe as "fairy tale like". We stay in a lot of b&bs, we agreed this was probably the most comfortable bed that we have had at a b&b. We rarely sleep well the first night anywhere,... more

The Sugartree Inn has become a special retreat for my wife and I. We have visited three times in the last two years and just can't get enough of it. A great place to refresh your mind and spirit. We had a family of Deer living in our back yard that treated us with their antics every afternoon during our... more

A wonderful peaceful location, high in the mountains just off the Skyline Drive. Our view of the woodland valley below was fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed having our own log burning open fire in the evenings when the sun had gone down. We were treated at breakfast, not only to excellent food, but also entertained by the varied wildlife on view... more

Everything was wonderful about this propery: located near Crabtree Falls and the Blue Ridge Parkway (near Humpback Rocks), hiking was near. Between the towns of Lexington and Staunton, there were plenty of things to see: Old Mills with wonderful preserves and flours and a wonderful yarn shop on a farm (with a peacock!). The breakfast here were fabulous: well balanced... more

Words can't express the excellent service and sense of family you get when you walk through the doors of the Sugar Tree Inn outside Steele's Tavern, VA. Innkeepers, Jeff and Becky Chanter, work their magic on a daily basis. They are welcoming over the phone, welcome you into their Inn with open arms, prepare wonderful dinners on Thurs, Fri, and... more

The website doesn't do the Inn justice enough. This was our second visit . The atmosphere at the inn is wonderful and the hosts even more so. The food is excellent and more than you could imagine. Breakfast will last you all day. The bed was very comfortable and doesn't encourage you to want to move in the morning. The... more

We decided to drive far away from NYC and the hectic life and found this place on http://www.selectregistry.com/ We got to relax and discover a different part of this country that we had never seen before. Jeff & Becky were really nice and we felt so relaxed. The food was delicious. Loved the juicy tender Pork chops for dinner and... more

This was our second visit to the rustic, yet high-quality, B & B in the Virginia Blue Ridge mountains. The setting is gorgeous - beautiful views of the mountains, several cozy cabins, abundant wildlife - and the amenities are plentiful - fabulous plush robes, wonderful linens, quality toiletries, soft quilts, quaint rocking chairs, stone fireplaces in almost every room, outdoor... more

The Sugar Tree Inn is a very nice place to stay. The rooms are large and comfortable with wood burning fireplaces and great ambiance. The main house is very nice and has a little shop for purchases, such as books, etc. No soda but good home baked cookies are available. Breakfast was very good and filling. All in all, a... more

We recently spent two days and nights at the inn, having found it listed in the AAA book as being off the Blue Ridge Parkway and also reviewed in TripAdvisor.com. We wanted a country inn (as opposed to a B&B) with a restaurant, peace and quiet, and located near Virginia activities such as wineries, antique stores, Charlottesville, etc. This inn... more

Thanks for the kind words! I would like to add that we do now offer a light fare meal most weekdays so you do not have to leave the property for dinner. Advance notice is appreciated. Also, while our driveway is narrow and winding, it is safe (no one has ever had an accident on it) so please don't let...
