We loved the view of the Gardens from our balcony and the windows in the Blue Ridge room. The soothing setting! The Inn has created a lovely, restful oasis in the country. We really enjoyed our visit to The Plains and the Grey Horse Inn. It was a wonderful choice for the fist day of our vacation and our first winery tour. We came to celebrate our 20th aniversery. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit---very delicious food (Melissa' breakfasts are to die for) and and scenery/gardens are spectacular...I have never seen such large hostas. We enjoy bed and breakfast when we travel and this Inn certainly did not disapoint us. The hospitality from beginning to end was excellent. We hope to be back.... more

What a find! This beautifully furnished Inn is located in the small village of "The Plains." It proved to be a great getaway for us. The innkeepers were very warm and friendly and were full of helpful suggestions for exploring the local area. Beware! John Hearty, owner, refused to return our refundable deposit upon receipt of our 21 day cancellation notice, despite completely selling out the Inn.
