We have stayed twice. The food is divine. The rooms tastefully furnished. However, if you want directions and or guidance on local sites it is very difficult to get. We had trouble getting directions to the mountains which are 15 minutes away. We wanted to go hiking but the trail name on the map did not exist. And there is... more

We enjoy traveling upscale but were not prepared for quaint, little Washington nor this wonderful inn. The service was european in every positive sense of the word (no ice machines, our ice bucket was refilled by unseen elves each time we left the room), the interiors were warm and interesting, even thought-provoking. And ah, the food. Dinner was the equal... more

Yes, it's expensive. Yes, the service is pretentious and borders on the obsequious. But the food is the best you will find anywhere, and the location is gorgeous. I highly recommend the tasting menu and wine pairings. As noted, it was the most impressive such meal I have ever had. That alone will bring me back again. Also, take advantage... more

Upon checking after, after 6 hour drive, I asked where could have something small to eat. They neglected to tell me about complimentary tea and sandwiches and about the small restaurant across the street where I could eat in or take out. Taken to room which is supposed to be handicapped room (traveling with 102 year old) through the kitchen... more

My wife told me about this place about 10 years ago. She wanted to go for her 50th birthday. I started saving then because I knew it was going to be expensive. We stayed for 3 nights in a suite. We've stayed in a lot of hotels and inns but never have we had a room so nice. Balcony overlooking... more

Our room had a balcony which was very nice and we were greeted with a champagne cocktail. There were plenty of staff who all seemed to know our names and were keen to meet our every need. The bedroom was dark, a bit gloomy and extravagantly decorated, somewhat dated with very heavy drapes ( I had to stand on a... more

I have stayed at the Inn many times, but had been away for three years. I felt like I had returned home, but to a home of my fantasy. From the moment I was welcomed by Said, to the moment I left, all was perfect. There are so many places in the world where one can stay in a beautiful... more

After reading some of the reviews with comments regarding the stuffiness of the rooms, the quality of the staff etc I felt I had to jump in with my opinions. I just came from a one night stay at The Inn and was astounded by the quality of the experience. As a hotelier, I have pretty high expectations and at... more

I wanted to do something memorable for my partner's 40th birthday, so we booked a room at Inn at Little Washington. We received a most memorable and pleasant respite from the real world for 17 hours. In one of several books available for perusal in our room, Patrick O'Connell, the owner of the Inn, states his desire to make the... more

My wife and I stayed at the inn to celebrate our anniversary. If we weren’t the youngest couple at the inn ever, we certainly were on the night we stayed. The place is very posh, a little too much for my taste. The room was great, bathroom was stunning, but I must say that the view out of the room... more
