Nasty, nasty nasty! Dulany needs to sell this place that could be so nice if someone cared about it! We have stayed there in the past and it was ok. We booked our room on line and went up there, Put our bags in the room which was awful! Went downstairs to get a bite to eat or to have... more

Stayed at this hotel almost 10 years ago and it was alright from what I remember. Well last weekend my girlfriend and I wanted to go up towards the mountains/charlottesville area and we decided to stay here NOTE: website paints a much nicer picture than what you actually get, which made us assume it was still nice. We get there... more

No kidding - this place was the worst. The first room given to us, already had occupants. We were switched to another room. The vanity was hanging off the wall, dead flies all over the place, stained carpets, terrible odor and a very old and worn woman's pajama hung behind the bathroom door. The water in the swimming pool was... more

My family and me stayed there for the Columbus Day weekend 07. The rooms are filthy. Big patches or carpet missing, and the chairs disgusting covered with dirt and stains. There was a mold smell throughout the hotel. We tolerated the place for two nights, but the third we where swarmed by flies coming from the curtains. That's right the... more

The Inn at Afton sounds nice; don't be fooled by its name. Rude staff, pet hair in the bed unable to get clean sheet because the front desk doesn’t do housekeeping, ripped carpet, mold in the bathroom, tub doesn't drain, lights don't work, broken handle on the toilet, coffee pot looked like it had last months coffee in it, no... more

Our ride on the Skline Drive was incredible....the views breath taking.....it would all end soon when we arrived at the most deplorable hotel I have ever stayed at......the front desk people were extremely rude, the facility in deplorable shape, not only dirty, but beds that were not made with fresh linens, but instead remade with animal hair all over them,... more

I have been staying here off and on for ten years. Clear back to when it was a Holiday Inn. The restaurant is still a great value. Most of the rooms have seen there better days due to storm damage and incompetent roof maintenace. A beautiful view and an interesting location. If you are hiking the Appalchian Trail/ Skyline Parkway... more

From their web site this looks like a really nice resort hotel on top of Afton Mountain right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. I was puzzled, though, that the web site has no photos of the insides of the rooms. When we got there the first thing we noticed was the hotel's big water tank on the mountain behind the... more

If you're only staying for 1-2 nights, it's not a bad place. The sheets were clean, but the beds were warped. The bathroom was okay, but you definitely needed to wear shower shoes. It was difficult to get the water temperture to your liking. The furniture was old and there's no refrigerator or microwave. You have to bring your own... more

Perfectly hideous. The lobby reeked of cigarette smoke. Our room had not been vaccumed (i.e., dead bugs and paint chips from the peeling ceiling and walls on the carpet, and the carpet was stained with something red), there was mold growing in the bathroom and in the "artwork", there were dead bugs in the heating element and dead bugs (moths,... more
