You will be warmly greeted and shown to your room, decorated in the style of old Williamsburg. Location is one block off Duke of Gloucester St. and comfortable walking distance from shops and restaurants. We have stayed here multiple times and it is our favorite place to stay in Williamsburg. more

We have stayed at the Fife and Drum for many years running and you will not find a better place to stay in Williamsburg. First, it is centrally located one block from the central shopping plaza, Merchant's Square, which also has several fine dining establishments, and, from there, it's only two short blocks to the Historic area. But, it's location... more

We spent four nites at the Fife and Drum, and had a great time. The staff was very helpful in answering questions about CW and the surrounding area. Billy seems to know everyone in town. During our four days in Williamsburg we found the locals to be very friendly and eager to help direct visitors. We hope to return this... more

The Fife and Drum is the closest accommodation to Colonial Williamsburg. It is in the marketplace village. Being on the second floor can be difficult for older guests. the accommodations are adequate but the floors squeak like crazy. Great Restaurants are within one block. more

This was our fourth stay at the Fife and Drum in December. We have made this trip our annual Christmas gift to each other. The location is great - just a couple of blocks over from historic Williamsburg. The Chef's Kitchen is just next door and a night at this excellent restaurant is also part of our gift to each... more

The inn keepers are friendly and helpful. The rooms are very nice, especially the way they have managed to get the private baths into each room. Breakfast is such a delight - the proper way to start a day in Williamsburg. And down the stairs and you are there - park the car and forget it. more

Fife and Drum is on the only B & B that lies within the precinct of restored and historically compatible structures immediately adjacent to Colonial Williamsburg. You are within two blocks of the Historic Area, the Shuttle Bus, and several fine restaurants. Free parking is a block away. The Inn occupies the second floor of a historic structure with shops and... more

The Fife & Drum Inn was wonderful--I took my Mom to Williamsburg, VA as a birthday gift because she'd always wanted to go there--and the Fife & Drum Inn was the perfect touch. It's a GREAT location in downtown Williamsburg--within walking distance to the entire historic colonial area of Williamsburg. It's charming and cozy--and the room we stayed in (the... more

My wife I stayed at the Fife & Drum during our honeymoon to Williamsburg. We loved everything about it. The staff was helpful and friendly. Billy Scruggs, the owner, went out of his way to make our trip extra special, by recommending sites and restaurants. He even offered to make any reservations for us. Also, the suite we stayed in... more
