Spent one night at Turtleback last weekend. We stayed in the cheapest room (the Nook), and the room was tiny but nicely furnished and had a relatively large bathroom. The only problem could be that it could be noisy, but everyone did go to bed and get up at the same time so it was no drama (there must be... more
This inn is featured in several top references, including one about places to see before you take your last breath... It is located in the country on a real working farm. It was fun to look out to the misty mountains beyond and see sheep and deer below. While this inn is not inexpensive, it does boast several conveniences that... more
While I've never had a bucket list of things to do before I die, knowing that visiting Turtleback Inn has made a list in a book, and that I've been able to knock that off the list I never knew I had, is a good thing. My boyfriend and I decided the week before Labor Day that we wanted to... more
We booked last minute, and lucky for us Turtleback had a vacancy (although I'm sure this is rare). We were "stuck" with their most expensive room. It was a beautiful room in their "Orchard House." The balcony overlooked a gorgeous meadow with grazing sheep. One afternoon a deer was grazing just under our balcony. This is a really exceptional place.... more
My husband and I were looking for a quiet, romantic getaway on Orcas Island. After a false start at another hotel on the island, we found just what we wanted here. We stayed in the "D'Anjou" room with a king-sized bed and view over the meadows, and it was wonderful. It was spacious, well-furnished and had all the special touches... more
Husband and I stayed at Turtleback Inn for a long weekend this past week. We thought the inn was beautiful and the innkeepers witty and attentive. They weren't overly friendly and there wasn't really a feeling of community, everyone there sort of kept to themselves, which was fine for a romantic weekend. We stayed in the Valley View suite and... more
We were married at the Turtleback Inn. A number of our family and friends stayed in the Farm and Orchard houses and found the rooms to be comfortable, clean and charming. The site was beatific, with sweeping views and lovely walks through the fields. Every breakfast was delicious and healthy. However our entire party found the proprietress rigid and condescending,... more
My husband and I stayed at the Turtleback Farm Inn for a weekend in September 2007. The setting is lovely - green rolling farmland complete with cows, chickens, sheep and a small lake on the property. We were in the Maple View room, which had a comfortable queen size bed and nice view. Breakfast was delicious, as were the brownies... more
I stayed here for one night with two girlfriends for a little getaway. They normally have a two night min. on weekends, but they happened to have the one room that would accomodate the three of us available for one night. I had booked this room 4 months in advance and I believe they told me that there would be... more
