The rooms have been redecorated but the infrastructure is worn. The hallway carpets are probably original and the aircon was horrible in the room. I was in this area on business, visiting two vineyard properties. The hotel was nice. It was clean, well decorated and comfortable. My room was quite nice...much better than I expected in such a small town. Room service, for breakfast, was on time and accurate. If I find myself in that area again, I would definitely stay here again. more

I lived in the Tri_Cities for several years in the mid-80's, and Cavanaughs was considered the upscale place to stay. It was on the edge of Kennewick, convenient to the highway and the local shopping mall. I just returned from a 5-day stay. I've stayed at numerous hotels in the Kennewick area and found this one adequate. I chose this hotel for its location--adjacent to the mall, and for the complimentary shuttle to and from the airport (this feature saved me at least $50 in cab fare). This hotel was awful. The TV was completely outdated and had white lines and a humming noise on it. We tried to watch 3 different movies and had to cancel them all because of the disturbance on the TV. The room service was 40 minutes late and the food was cold when we received it. When I rate a hotel, I look for clean, comfortable temperature and comfortable beds. I found all of this and more and Kennewick's Red Lion Inn. They even put a small refrigerator and microwave in the room, but so artfully hidden in the decor that the feel of the room was "expensive". Thank you for a great 4-day stay! more

This building is dated, but a lot has been done to the rooms as far as fixtures, furnishings, linens, and decor to really make it nice. Quality was evident except for the old windows with failing screens and the noisy A/C-fan-heat unit. The front desk personnel were a bit scattered, but it turned out fine. The "heated pool" was very cold. The spa/workout area had poor quality and poorly maintained equipment. The wi-fi was a weak connection at best. The mattresses were comfortable and the hotel was clean. The price was overpriced. more
