I was very pleased with this lovely, quiet hotel. It is clean, has a very nice decor and very friendly staff. The rooms are spacious; the lobby and public areas are very nice - a pleasant atmosphere. They have a nice breakfast room and include a continental breakfast. It is much, much nicer than some of the motel style accomodations... more

My friends and I spent some time trying to decide if we had done something to make the one staff member in the deserted hotel hate us. He loaned us a cheap, plastic wine key and then insisted 3 times that we return it immediately. (He even called our room when we didn't rush back to the desk with it.)... more

I knew of this hotel for years, but never stayed because it had been part of Choice Hotels in the past. I decided to give it a try now that it is independently owned. The rooms are uniquely different in layout. I am fussy on clean bathrooms and this was cleaner than any. In the morning I received a reminder... more

We thoroughly enjoyed our very clean and well appointed room. The staff was most accommodating upon our entry into the lobby and throughout our stay. Kudos to Jenna on the front desk and the whole team. Thanks for the memories and you can be assured, we will be back. more

Do not stay here!! We had to change rooms after one night due to a mattress as hard as a cardboard box. Also people in the next room playing TV loudly late at night. There were no hooks on the walls or doors to hang anything. Luckily the rooms had their own thermostats because the lobby, halls, and breakfast room... more

In November 2006, I spent a few nights at the Carlton Inn at Tottem Lake while I was on a business trip. In the midst of the inclement weather in Seattle at the time, the manager was very gracious in arranging for a prompt shuttle to the airport. The hotel was eminently suited to my need for a clean room,... more

Needed a pleasant hotel in a safe location while visiting the area for some business. As a single woman, need to feel secure. This is a spacious, non-congested, quiet, and rather elegant boutique-type hotel. While not as new as other hotels, I found the furniture in the rooms of good taste and classier than other modern cheaply-furnished hotels. The rooms... more

This is a bizarre hotel and should be avoided except in cases of emergency. There are many problems with it. Previously it was a Clarion that went straight down hill after 9/11 when travel dropped off nationwide. It was sold more than a year ago. For starters, the proprietor is a woman who walks around in her bathrobe berating the... more

Stayed here on business. Everything else in town was booked. After hearing the price over the phone, I decided that the extra dollars would give me a nice place for the night. Unfortunitly, that wasn't completely the case. Entered the lobby on a real hot day and it was not air conditioned (owners trying to save money? poor employees!). The... more

After visiting their website, I inquired via email about reservations and rates for a July 2006 stay and never received a response. (It has been about three weeks now.) The website for the Carlton Inn at Totem Lake does not have online reservations. I would recommend that they add online reservations or, at very least, a way to check availability... more
