My husband and I spent part of our honeymoon at the Chauntecleer house on Whidbey Island in Langley, WA. Getting to Whidbey Island by ferry was the first part of the fun. Driving through Langley is charming, and finding this little house was exciting as we pulled into a long driveway with lush gardens and a view to the sound coming closer. There are several houses on the property as well as the owner's own house. We stayed in the Chauntecleer, which is 'connected' to the owners' house but we never saw them until our last day at the property. They had left our key and we were able to go right in; the house was ours for our stay (3 or 4 nights i believe). The fridge held goodies for breakfast and the kitchen was stocked w/ enough pans, dishes and spices to do a little of our own cooking (which we took advantage of by shopping at the cute little grocery in town since there aren't a whole lot of restaurants).
