Not great. The room was very utilitarian and pretty far from town. The bonus is that it felt more remote and might be why we had the beach mostly to ourselves. You can step right off the deck to the field/trails that lead to the beach - which was nice. My dog loved it. PROBLEMS: Internet and fireplace did not... more

We stayed Thursday to Monday of Memorial weekend. Although our first night was in a very small and rustic ridge unit because we decided to arrive one night earlier, the other three nights were in a very nice 1 bedroom with full kitchen and a partial ocean view. We returned home to a phone call from the manger saying we... more

unless you own a labradoodle, golden retriever or other supposedly "non-aggressive" dog. I have zero tolerance for breed discrimination. My boyfriend and I tried to stay here with our dog this weekend to celebrate both our birthdays. Unfortunately, we were turned away b/c this hotel refuses to accept "pit bulls, dobermans, rotweillers and other aggressive breeds". Seriously? No thanks, I'll... more

Management response from
MorganFreeman, General Manager

This is a controversial policy that many people either appreciate or hate with apologies due for offending descriminated breed owners. Lodging establishments are required by law to provide an environment that is reasonably free of hazards. Though it is highly debatable whether a certain breed is inherently, or trained to be, "agressive" the fact remains that certain animals have traditionaly...

The Lighthouse is a great resort! We visit Long Beach frequently to see a friend who lives in the area, and we stay at the Lighthouse every time. We have 3 dogs and the Lighthouse is dog-accommodating and very pet friendly - they even have treats. Generally we come to the beach for holiday weekends or for special events (Loyalty... more

We really loved this place. The units are the size of apartments, the decore is quite nice, the view is unbeatable and the service is top notch. We also loved that this hotel is dog-friendly so we can travel with our pets. We checked out a lot of other hotels online and settled on this one a few years ago.... more

I stay here every year with grandkids -- they don't want to go anyplace else! They can play on the dunes within eyesight of any of the units. They can swim to their heart's content in the covered pool. On our last visit during Spring Break, they even got to watch two deer grazing in the evenings near the basketball... more

This is my second trip back to the Lighthouse Resort. I won't be going there a third time. The quality went down quite a bit. Very disappointed. I'll start with what we like: basketball court, indoor pool and hot tub, nice walk to the beach, nice look and layout to the complex, large rooms. Here is what went wrong: room... more

My wife and I stayed here between Christmas and New Years eve a few years ago. We both enjoyed the unit. It was not lavishly decorated, but for the rate we payed we could not begin to complain. We enjoyed the fact that the resort is run more like rental condos than a hotel. The fact that they unit did... more

We have stayed in Long Beach every year for the last several years, and this place is by far, the nicest and most comfortable. Every unit has an increadible view of the ocean. The pool and hut tub are covered so even in the winter it's a great place to spend time. The size of the units (two floors) are... more

My husband and I have stayed at the Lighthouse OceanFront Restort for the past three years. We have found it to be an excellent value. The staff is helpful and polite. The units are clean, sparsley but tastefully decorated with a gas fireplace. The ocean is a five minute walk. We would take our dog down to the beach every... more
