I booked a 5 night stay after reading some of the reviews on the Canterbury Inn. However, after checking in and looking about my room I wondered where the good reviews came from. The hallway leading to my room on the 2nd floor was dingy and the room itself was not what I had expected, the furniture was outdated and... more

The staff was great until the day we checked out. We overslept. The 'Executive HouseKeeper' broke into our room and threatened to call the police because we were tresprassing. I had called and asked for an extra hour. My 9 year old son was mortified. She was swearing and abusive. I have never been treated so horribly in any establishment... more

The Canterbury Inn is a hotel made up of condos owned by other people, so each room is different. Strictly speaking about our room and experience, we felt it was a nice room, but we expected more for the price. It's a good place to stay if you have pets, although they don't allow you to leave the pets in... more

This place bills itself as a luxury oceanfront resort. Let’s deconstruct that. 1. Luxury? Nothing about the room says luxury. The room hasn’t been updated in twenty years, and that includes the kitchen appliances, lineoleum in the bathroom, kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, and the furniture. The comforter on the bed is standard-issue two-star-hotel. The towels are sandpaper, there is no... more

All rooms have recently been upgraded with tile and new silestone countertops. All rooms will soon have new 32" LCD tvs as well as new beds. As soon as the new beds are in place bed skirting will be used. Noise complaints are few and far between and yes, I agree front desk should have notified housekeeping for you. The...

My grandkids and I go to Ocean Shores every year either right after school lets out or right before it starts. I have always stayed at 'national chain' hotels feeling that they might be the best value for the dollar. Being extremely disappointed with the chains in Ocean Shores I tried Canterbury Inn. What a wonderful surprise!! EVERYONE and EVERYTHING... more

I have been to the Canturbury since I was 6 years old. In recent years, since 1993, I have tried to come at least once a year. My husband LeRoy & I always stay in a room on the 3rd floor, and we are always very satisfied with the front desk personell, the housekeeping personell, and the entire place. This... more

Everyone knows the beach in the summer is a great place to be. But, it is really wonderful in the dead of winter. We wanted a quick get-a-way from the city and checked on Trip Advisor for a place to stay in Ocean Shores, WA. Found this great place and they had an off season, internet special that we jumped... more

We traveled to Ocean Shores WA for a family reunion. My uncle and I booked 2 seperate rooms. One for his family and one for my husband and I. We had a studio set up with kitchen and full bath. Our room was old fashioned. The decor and the kitchen were in desperate need of updating. The patio was nice... more

We try to find accomodations that allow us to eat at least one meal in....and with this unit's lovely ocean view, we took all of them in! Just like a one bedroom condo, but with maid service and with the ocean spread before us, there couldn't have been a better veiw in town. The unit had comfy beds and tasteful... more

We stayed in a two-bedroom suite that was quite nice, with a decent view of the ocean. Our problem came after we got home from vacation. When checking in we initialed the "$150 charge for smoking in the non-smoking room" notice and the one member of our party who smoked made sure to be well outside and away from the... more
