I had no idea what to expect of Orcas Island. My friend suggested it, so I went along. We stayed at Otter's Pond, as she'd been there before. The island is charming - no fast food outlets at all. Just glorious Northwest scenery, with the ocean or a lake at every turn, and several small villages with independent restaurants and... more

My wife have stayed at Otter's Pond many times. The rooms are private and comfortable. The breakfast is also quite good. The proprietors are knowledgeable about the area and are helpful in helping guests get the most out of the time on the island. more

This was our 7th year staying at the Otter's Pond B&B. We discovered it in Sept. 2002 and have been returning every year. It is such a peaceful and beautiful place. Carl and Sue, the owners, are gracious and helpful. They are knowledgeable about everything on the island. The breakfasts are amazing! They are usually 5 courses or so with... more

My husband and I chose Otter's Pond B&B to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and we spent several days enjoying the comfort, serenity and beauty of this B&B and Orcas Island. The breakfasts at Otter's Pond are absolutely incredible. The innkeepers were very welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel at home. This is the perfect... more

We were only to stay one night - we have 2 babies at home, so this was a rare treat. We chose Otters Pond based on the reviews and the online menu for the breakfast. After all, we love food, and the idea of eating one of their magnificently reviewed breakfasts without having our kids screaming sounded glorious. Let me... more

Management response from

Most innkeepers take infrequent, usually short term breaks sometimes even in peak travel times. Following our committment to superior services and guest accommodations, we have retained the services of an outstanding innsitter and she has been with us during the past ten years. Not one complaint about our wonderful breakfasts. After receiving this complaint we scoured the guestbooks--only positive comments...

I can't say enough about our stay. From the bald eagle we saw on the pond (March is Eagle season), to our comfortable room, to the elegant breakfasts, to the way that we were made to feel so welcome, this was probably one of the best places we have ever stayed. It is also close to not only Eastsound and... more

Sue and Carl are the gracious hosts at this wonderful B&B. The setting is beautiful, with bird feeders that attract evening grosbeaks, pine siskins, black-headed grosbeaks, rufous hummingbirds, and more. The hot tub with Japanese sliding screens is positioned so you can watch the sunset over the pond from the hot tub. Breakfast are multi-course and incredible! Eggs benedict with... more

Just finishing our third visit, and we can't wait to come back again. The inn is located on a beautiful pond, so we've seen many varieties of ducks and small birds, bald eagles, deer, even an otter or two. The hosts are delightful, and have had great suggestions for places to explore. The inn is very close to Moran Park,... more

While we don't usually prefer to stay at B&B's, we did choose OttersPond on Orcas Island for a six day stay and we are so glad that our other choices were booked on the weekends. Our plan was to use Orcas as our base and visit a few islands for day trips which worked perfectly and made the trip so... more
