This is such a beautiful place to stay............for years our friends and family have stayed here.........the noise of the bar is not a problem....we have stayed on the second and third floors, and in just about every room and have enjoyed the atmosphere, the history....the help. Until MARY.....she has made all of us feel unwelcome, has been very rude and... more

We ended up staying here on a whim. Thought the place looked neat and only popped in to see what the rates were out of curiosity and after we looked at room #5 couldn't pass it up. The room was incredible. Spacious, comfortable and quaint with an outstanding view of the Sound from out private porch with our very own... more

My Girlfriends and I chose this hotel for the location to spend our yearly 2 day retreat relaxing and enjoying the last gasp of summer. When the room was booked we were told that their could be some noise from the restaurant below since it was a holiday weekend. We expected loud voices, clinking plates etc. We did NOT EXPECT... more

The service was decent, but on a mostly-empty weekend, we were unable to stay in the same room for the duration of a long weekend. They make all the reservations in an actual ledger, so flexibility is minimal. The rooms are spacious, with adequate furnishings. If you plan on staying here, you'd better sleep with earplugs. It is above a... more

My husband and I have stayed at the Water Street Hotel for six years now. We LOVE it! Anyone looking for a 5-star hotel with all the glitz, this place is not for you. But if you're seeking clean, comfortable, friendly accommodations, this is the place! From the moment Mary greets you in the quaint reception area until you leave... more

The bar on the first floor will play loud music until midnight. After they close, bar patrons are loud and rude. There are lots of places to stay in PT, but I wouldn't recommend this one. Hotel owners need to decide if they are going to cater to people in the hotel or people in the bar; the two are... more

My boyfriend and I stayed here and enjoyed it overall. It was even cheaper than the hostel in town, plus in an excellent location. The walls were thin, but it wasn't too noisy. I liked the character of the place. more

My brother & I needed a place to stay and the reviews here looked good, so we dropped in for a night. Unfortunately, we found out then that the only rooms with a view are called the Waterview Suites ($135 in Sept 07), but they were a little too high for our budget. The only other room with 2 beds... more

If you like an atmospheric, historic hotel in the heart of an old downtown walking district filled with great galleries and restaurants, this is the hotel for you. The rooms are huge (our five year old loved having space to play) and have that early 1900s ambiance. We had a corner room with many windows that was delightful. While not... more

My Husband and I stayed in one of the large suites on the 3rd floor of this Wonderful, old, hotel. We found the climb up 3 flights of stairs a bit daunting, but, worth it once we arrived in our VERY spacious room with a nice kitchen and the most extraordinary view!! The king-sized bed we used (there were two... more
