After a fabulous trip south we thought we'd stop in Port Townsend for a night. We took one look at our room, told the front desk we would not be staying and left for Port Angeles. $129.00 a night plus tax - in September - is not good value for your dollar...at this hotel. Good points: The bed was comfortable. Bad points: Everything else. Cheapest in town (but not really cheap), but I guess you get what you pay for in PT. Hot tub was cool (and dirty with broken jets), pool was freezing. Manager said it was b/c recent solar heating had cooled due to stormy weather. So don't stay if the sun isn't out if you plan to swim. Room was large, but needed a good scrubbing, broken remote control with small tv. No vcr or dvd for the kids.... more
We stayed here for 2 nights. The staff was neither horrible nor great. They had a decent continental breakfast and an indoor pool and hot tub. The central location is nice, but the turns to the streets can be tricky! This was the cheapest room in Port Townsend. It had a microwave/fridge/hairdryer. If you don't know, Port Townsend is a hippie town, so be prepared to experience their type of lifestyle (whatever that means : ) ). The hotel website gives the appearance that this is an acceptable motel, but that's inaccurate. The motel is dirty, dingy, and old. The carpet needs replacement and walls are dirty.
