I must admit we were nervous once we booked this hotel and then read reviews on several websites and travel books. However, we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Really a terrific place. The rooms are authentic and immaculate, the floor is appropriately uneven, and the shared bathroom is nicer than anything I've ever lived in. Roche Harbor is a much nicer place to stay than Friday Harbor, and this is the best spot from which to go whale watching. I wish we'd taken a boat from here rather... more

The Hotel de Haro definitely is beautiful. From outside, it looks lik an old movie set. You can absolutely imagine that you're in the early 20th century, visiting with Theodore Roosevelt. Inside, the place is a little shabby. We stayed in a small room with a beatiful view of Roche Harbor. There are 2 bathrooms per floor (Mens and Womens)... more
