In getting here, one must walk in, or take the 2 1/2 hour boat ride, or fly for 1/2 hour. Lake Chelin did not seem that exciting to me until one got near Stehekin. For an extra $60, if you can afford it, I'd suggest taking the plane up from Chelin. The Resort is very relaxed. The room is claen and basic. The staff is friendly and helpful. For example, one morning I woke up early and one of the staff walked me into the kitchen for coffee ahead of its scheduled availability. I didn't ask: they did this on their own. Note that there is no cell phone coverage up here, but there is a public satellite phone in a nearby building. I would go back. more
