We were looking for a comfortable establishment, at a good price that would provide a safe and convenient base to explore both the WA and OR life along the Gorge. The Riverside Lodge was perfect. The Lodge is very well appointed with a cabin feel but no shortage of comfort. The tub has jacuzzi jets, the bed is quite comfortable,... more

Two couples spent one night at the lodge in early June. We each had booked rooms next to each other. We were greeted by the owner. Check in was a welcoming greeting and introduction to our rooms and how everything worked. we were provided with information on places to eat. The rooms were very clean and cozy. The kitchen was... more

The Dog Lover's Companion to the Pacific Northwest highly recommends this lodge overlooking the Columbia River located at an expert-only launch site for windsurfers and kitesurfers. We studied the reviews at Trip Advisor and decided to go ahead with the one big cabin that sleeps 7 people -- rather than the smaller cabins with full size beds, understanding the fish... more

This visit was our third in two years. The trains are noisy, but the accomodations and location are worth putting up with it. The larger rooms are a great deal. Plenty of space, but the rooms only have double beds. The tubs have jets, and are large. Nice kitchenettes, and roomy living room/dining room areas. We have stayed in a... more

When I was browsing, I came across the Columbia Gorge Riverside Lodge and even though it's been several years, I wanted to share our experience. Honestly, I feel like it is the right thing to do. Based on the website and my conversation with Angus, I booked the Calypso room. The rooms looked decent sized (the photographs on the website... more

Wow, I just read the other reviews, and can't believe they are referring to this property! First off, the pictures on the web site must have been taken with a wide-angle lens, or some other trickery, because the cabins/rooms are TINY!! I suspect, in hindsight, that's why they all have double beds! We saw 2 rooms; the first one was... more

Yes, there are trains. The tracks are across the street and there is a crossing also. But for the price and the location right on the river you can't beat it. The place is very nice with big decks and shared hot tubs, (two rooms per tub). The beds are comfortable and there is ample furntiure inside and out. The... more

This unique collection of modern log buildings is a wonderful retreat on the banks of the greener eastern end of the Columbia River Gorge. My wife and I went there for a relaxing weekend and were rewarded many times over. First, about the trains: yes the tracks are just north of the lodge. Yes, there are a number of trains... more

The staff of the CGRSL is wonderful, accommodating and so friendly to work with. We held our wedding (small wedding) here, and every guest was pleasantly surprised with the setting and feel of the lodge. We had our guests asking to see rooms, tell us they'd be back, and overall I cannot blame them a bit! Sure, there are trains,... more

You know that when there are complimentary ear plugs on the bedside table, you are in for a noisy night! The view of the Columbia River was awesome, the room was cozy and clean, the hot tub was hot but the noise from the trains and train crossing were really ridiculous. When I made the reservation over the phone, I... more
