We were encouraged by the two very positive reviews we read on TripAdvisor and booked at Casey's Cove Inn, despite some misgivings about the photos on their website.
We were very disappointed in the experience and a three night reservation was quickly terminated after just one night.
The room was a good size and fairly clean. The location is just across from the Keystone-Port Townsend Ferry, as advertised. But the experience degrades from there.
The rooms have been carved out of the former dining room in this road side diner (I learned a lot about the checkered past of this business site from other islanders over the course of our four days on Whidbey). There is still a restaurant on the site, but a much smaller dining area. The kitchen exhaust fan must empty directly into our room because it was saturated with the smell of cooking grease to the point of instant headache.
The desk staff was very confused about our reservation and had made a mistake about the days...
