I would recomand every travelers to have a night in Not So Hostel when they visit Charleston. It is a youth hostel, then it is not the best to go with children, but if you're with some friends or alone, just stop in this very nice place.
It is quite close from downtown - 10 or 15 minutes walking, few minutes by car. Everything you need : it is cheap and yet, the service is really good : free breakfast in the morning with cofee, bagels and what you want!
Even the interior design is crazy charming.

I enjoyed a lot this place, probably the best youth hostel I ever been in.
Just go there ! :)
