We stayed here over Memorial Day Weekend 2009 on the tail end of a hiking trip to Dolly Sods. It was raining so we didn't feel like setting up our tent anywhere and everything else in the area was full. We just wanted a nice bed to sleep in after backpacking 20+ miles and camping along the trail.
This place sort of creeped me out. It looked clean enough but everything was from the 1970s, including dark wood paneled walls, the comforter, and TV. We slept on our sleeping bags over the covers- not sure if the bed was dirty, but didn't want to take a chance.
I think this place was cute and had a lot of character years and years ago (some of the rooms are in little cabins). But it SEVERELY needs remodeling. On the upside, the staff that we did interact with were very friendly.
In short, we are not picky travelers so it was ok with us, especially considering the price we paid. But I think it was bad enough that most of my friends and family members would...
