I stayed at The Woods for a girls only weekend and had a great time. We stayed in one of the Meadow houses that sleep 8, has a full kitchen and living area. Each of the 4 bedrooms has it's own bathroom which was very nice. We enjoyed the spa services and ate in the restaurant one night. We were... more

On a whim, my husband and I decided to head to West Virginia for the weekend. We wanted a place that was within two hours of Washington DC. The Woods was perfect! Our room in the Evergreen Lodge was clean and big. The in-room jacuzzi bath was perfect after playing tennis and raquetball at the near-by sports center. We ate... more

My fiance and I stayed in the Evergreen Lodge for a night, very nice room. Beautiful setting. Spa is very nice. Not very impressed with the resturant, crab cake was awful, so was the service. Good luck hunting down your server. more

My wife and I (in our upper 20s to around 30) stayed here this past Saturday night for a quick two-day, one-night getaway. The Woods is a nice, secluded resort with two outdoor pools, one right near the lodging area and another near the golf course entrance about a mile-and-a-half's drive. We can't comment on the golf -- there are... more

The Woods resort has a nice outdoor pool with a smaller indoor pool, jacuzzi, and male&female saunas. The room was adequate- large jacuzzi tub, refrig.small patio. The food was mediocre. No other places close by to eat. Advertised as 2000 acre resort but most of it is developed with homes. The homeowners also share resort facilities (pools, dining, etc). more

Superbly comfortable, casual, welcoming sums up this place. I have never before experienced such an eager, enthusiastic, accommodating group of staff. And at the "special" rate of $89 a night including full breakfast, the older "Walden" rooms with porches overlooking the duck pond and pool are an amazing deal. Even if you don't partake of all the "resort" activities, this... more

We've been staying at The Woods since 1989 when we were married and spent our Honeymoon there. Since then, we've made a point of going there several times a year. It is a very relaxing place, and we enjoy the facilities and the staff. A two-hour crafts class for kids allows us to spend a little time with each other.... more

I stayed at The Woods Resort with my wife from Feb. 17-19, 2006. What a wonderful resort. The Evergreen Lodge is the place to stay. We had a great view of the surrounding woods, with a fireplace and whirlpool tub. The room as well as the entire resort was very clean. All the staff that we met were very friendly... more

My husband and I went to The Woods Resort for Valentine's weekend looking for a romantic and intimate experience...we ended up having our stay ruined by the racist remarks of an obnoxious, offensive and loud member of the spa staff. We had heard about the Spa and were looking forward to enjoying some of the treatments however, after our experience,... more
