I’ll start with the good, location was convenient to small Main Street area The bad…walls a paper thin and across the street are 2 bars and people were partying all night and drag racing up the street. The furniture in suite are old and very uncomfortable. There is a garage but parked us in an adjacent lot. Too expensive for bad night of sleep. This maybe the worst Hilton hotel I’ve been to.

Hotel's Favourite
My daughter and I recently stayed here for college orientation. We had a 9 hour drive so we arrived very late. The front desk was very friendly and she got us checked I quickly and gave us lots of good info. We had to be up and out early in the morning. It was a quick stay but we were satisfied with the cleanliness of the room, it was much more spacious than we expected and it was as styled nicely. The parking garage was quite tight so had we taken our other car we probably would have had an issue getting in the parking garage but typical for downtown areas so if you have a larger suv/truck you probably already encounter this issue. We were very satisfied and would stay here again. Good downtown location.

Couches were gross with stains. Old mini bar fridge in the room but it didn’t look like it could hold anything of use. The exhaust in the bathroom didn’t work. There was noise from the street at all hours while trying to sleep. Centipede in the room. Not all front desk people were friendly. I’ve stayed at better places in Morgantown and would not stay there again.

Hotel description and photos on website were misleading. Gives you the impression of a newer property. This is a downtown city location, far from ideal. Booked through Hilton Honors (am a member) and price quote was not correct. Final charges included a fee for parking in the old outdated decrepit ramp. Upon check in I asked about parking and the front desk associate advised me there was a ramp but was never told there was a $12 charge to park in the ramp. Room was below average for a Hilton property, woodwork was clearly worn as color was worn away. Bathtub was the same. Tried to pass off property as newer and was clearly not. To be fair, staff was very friendly and helpful. During the early morning we were serenaded by sirens from emergency vehicles and people hooting and howling outside. Icing on the cake was the freight train that rumbled past the hotel at 3:30am, again we had no idea. Suffice is to say none of us slept and we checked out before six and were on our way. For the $200 not even close to worth it. Stay somewhere else.

This is a very unique hotel. It is tucked into town, just off campus in a very walkable area. It is obviously an old building. The lobby is very inviting and non traditional looking. It has a small bar/dual breakfast area with a limited menu. The front desk is literally a small desk with one person. I don’t think the room count is high in the hotel. There is one elevator. We were upgraded to a larger room. Our corner room had a sitting area, large tv and connected to a king bed area and large desk. There was a small fridge and coffee area. The bathroom was a bit small. The bed was comfortable. The room needs a refresh/remodel, although it was very clean. The furniture and room is showing signs of wear. The rest of the hotel appears updated. The attached parking garage is ancient, but attached, secured and functional. Others are correct, don’t try it with a large SUV or truck. The hotel staff are all a 10/10 friendly. WV people are very friendly in general. The price is a bit steep I think, for what you get. The other footnote is on a Friday or Saturday when school is in, it is extremely loud on the street in front of hotel. There are bars within a block or two.

Our room was very comfortable, the staff was very helpful, and the food service was pleasant. Above and beyond, however, is the pleasant upbeat atmosphere in this hotel. One of the front desk staff called another hotel from our previous night to see if we had left a charger in the room. That is way above the service we usually experience. We don’t know what kind of training staff members receive, but this was clearly a well trained staff who seemed to take pleasure in making our experience a good one. Well done!

I have stayed at a Tapestry Collection by Hilton hotel before and enjoyed a 5-star experience. I expected the same here and was extremely disappointed. What is important is that Chris, at the front desk, was welcoming, kind, and did his best to make us happy. What he couldn’t fix was the state of the room. The best description I can give is the room was like a used dorm room with old, low-end furniture. The location is a block away from a collection of bars and old buildings. Parking is not valet, as the website states, it is self park in a public garage a block away that is not secured. While the hotel does have parking in an adjacent building, the building is old and I was advised our SUV would not have negotiated the tight corners, so we were offered complimentary parking down the road. They do have a bar (there was no one there on a Saturday night). I did not see any coffee in the lobby. BTW - this hotel was only $10 less expensive than the Marriott Morgantown on the waterfront, only 1 mile away. Thank you for allowing us to back out of our reservation after we saw the room. I like Hilton’s on the whole, but would not return to this one property.

This was the 2nd time staying at this hotel. Both were decent experiences. The 1st time (back in November of 2022), we had a very large corner room that was nice. Unfortunately, it faced the road which got very loud when the college bars let out. That first visit, the front desk staff were not friendly and seemed annoyed when they had to do a check in or check out. The second visit, we stayed in a room facing the rear, which was much more quiet (also in the middle of summer with fewer college students around). The room was decent, but the bathroom was rundown and obviously undergoing repairs with the ceiling and walls in the middle of a spackle job. This time around the front staff were very engaged, helpful and super friendly. The lobby bar is limited in their breakfast and bar options, but nice to have something available! The hotel is an easy walk to downtown WVU campus as well as the wharf district for restaurants. Nice to have onsite parking (additional cost), but the garage is a bit on the scary side!

Excellent service from check-in to check-out, the GM was always present, friendly and helpful. I was upgraded into a suite, which is rare these days at any hotel, based on my status with Hilton. The room was spacious, nicely appointed, and most importantly had the most comfortable hotel bed in the world. The bathroom, though small, was styled nicely, think 2010 chic, and the shower and bath products were good. The breakfast was good, selection of breakfast sandwiches and burritos that were laid to order. I had an upgraded “McMuffin” and coffee for a reasonable $6, comped automatically (without having to remind anyone at checkout) with my Hilton benefit. The GM personally made my breakfast! The only thing that annoyed me was the parking fee. I get it, it’s downtown and the hotel has to lease garage space, but with classes being out Downtown Morgantown was a ghost town. I probably could have found a free street space. $12 is a small price to pay for such an awesome stay!

On the plus side, hotel staff members Mandy, Shaden, Tyler, BJ, Katie, and Kelly were delightfully friendly and helpful—my thanks and kudos to them. Front lobby decor was kinda neat. 4th Floor room (#401) was spacious, desk was wonderfully sizeable bed was *super* comfy. On the minus side: $12 a day for parking seems a tad excessive, and you’d think they’d at least waive that for Hilton Honors Diamond Members! Breakfast was decent tasting but didn’t have the diversity of selections that I’ve come to expect at Hilton-branded hotels (even the lower-end Hampton Inns). The ceiling light in the bathroom ofttimes flickered, and the bathroom sink drained *very* slowly. In fairness, the hotel staff informed me that Hilton purchased the property less than a year ago, and that improvements are on the way (including the drainage issues). Overall, a positive experience (this was my first time in Morgantown), and I’d be willing to stay here again, especially once those improvements are completed!
