I chose this hotel while touring SE Ohio, NW Pennsylvania, and NW West Virginia. The photos on the website looked quite charming, however the reality was somewhat different! The Wells Inn was dirty and shabby. The common areas were absolutely filthy. The rooms were severely rundown, like a 1940's flop house. Disgusting layers of linoleum covered with worn area rugs,... more

My sister and I went on a weekend adventure and stayed at the Wells Inn. I personnaly found the Inn to be full of charm from days gone by. I loved the place. The lobby was beautiful as was the sitting room. I sure loved all the antiques and artifacts from the past when life was much simplier. I found... more

My sister and I found this hotel to be packed with days-gone-by charm and would definitely stay here again. That said, this is not the place for those accustomed to finer lodgings. If you like shiny and new, don't stay here. If you find grand old buildings fascinating and can overlook mismatched furnishings and dust on the ceiling fan blades,... more

We stayed for a wedding. It was not at all what I expected. The rooms looked nothing like the pictures on their web site. Worn, stained carpets. Mismatched furniture. The beds were comfortable, but that is the only plus. No dining room. No pool. Basement was musty. Warped floors. This place was serviceable but needs a great deal of work.... more

Having friends who live in the area, I decided to check out the inn for myself. Upon entering I was greeted by the front desk staff who was extremely helpful and accomadating. Her southern charm gave me the feeling that we knew each other for years. She showed me several rooms that were available. Each one had a different flair... more

Having lived in the Sistersville area at one time, and having attended functions at the Wells Inn in the past, I booked a room for my wife and myself based on past experience. With the new owners, things have changed to say the least! When we arrived the hotel was filthy. Grease stains on the lobby floor, air conditioning not... more

Standing outside of this hotel you get the feeling of a place that has seen many things in its time. When you walk in you also automatically get the feeling of being accompanied by something different but not in a bad way. I will definately go back just out of pure curiosity. The staff were very friendly and I would... more

I was disappointed that the rooms I got did not look like the pics on the web page. I changed rooms twice. The hotel has potential. I could tell it used to be very charming. The big problem was that the décor is not the same throughout the rooms. Some antique furniture in the room from the Victorian period, mixed... more

As a descendant of the family that founded the Wells Inn, I have seen the Wells Inn for many decades. I remember back when the Wells Inn was packed with guests in the dining area, and then everyone going down to the Wooden Derrick (I believe that was the name of the bar on the basement floor). I remember ladies... more

Just visited the Wells Inn last weekend and it is awesome, and would love to go there again. The charm of the place is great, with wonderful people that work there.. No rooms are alike, so it's fun to take a peak at all of them you can. We even had a friendly ghost visit us.. The food was good... more
