The Greenbrier is a must-do transport back in time. Despite the beauty of this classic resort, the main hotel/grounds are marred by current construction to build a new underground mega- casino. There are plans to build new golf courses and many new homes. The charm and seclusion can't last much longer. All the employees are extremely supportive of the new... more

The ole girl is on the decline.. The casino is tacky.. the rooms use to sparkle now they are headed down hill.. clean but not what they were. they are beginning to look worn and reflect a lack of attention. Hope she doesn't become Grey Gardens.. like. New owner is building a huge casino size of a football field and... more

1st time visitor on recent Tribute to Virginias package. Drastically reduced room prices and 20% off of activities. It is still not a cheap weekend by any means. At check-in, to which we were cheerfully directed by at least 3 persons, we are informed by the young desk clerk that we were very lucky as we had been placed in... more

Second time visitor. So much to do but all is just timing to await your next meal or drink prices and amenities Wonderful health club but no ability to wash down the machines pre and post exercise and in time of H1N1 this seems short-sighted.l Drinks at $4 for well drinks and $11wine. $7 beer were daunting. Wont go back more

My wife and I visited this hotel for 3 nights starting on the 30th of October. This was our third trip to the Greenbrier and our first that was not in the winter. The leaves were pretty much gone as the lady who took our reservations warned us but the mountains and location were as lovely as ever! We ate... more

We stayed at the Greenbrier for 3 days on Fall Break. First time at the resort. Our cottage was wonderful. Highly recommend reserving a cottage if you have small children. Lots of space and privacy. Feels like home. The service was fantastic. Grounds were beautiful and the fall foliage did not disappoint. Fantastic visit. We didn't have time to do... more

Stayed here recently for an annual conference. The hotel has recently been purchased and is undergoing major construction of a casino and new restaurants. We had a superior room- two windows. Rooms are clean and spacious- very comfortable beds and bedding. There was a lot of noise from construction in parts of the hotel. The food was very good- though the breakfast... more

We had very high expectations coming in and it really lived up to all of them. The service is unparalleled. Traveling with a few people, we were able to see three different rooms and I love how everyone of them was so unique! That is a type of charm that you don't see very often any more. Golf courses were... more

Our first trip to the Greenbrier, and it met all our expectations. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We were upgraded to a lovely suite without even asking for it. The decor is classic and beautiful, like a palace. We had dinner at the golf club (Sam Snead's) and it was great. Cannot say enough good things about the spa.... more
