I avoided reviewing this hotel initially, figuring I may have had a bad but isolated experience. But after seeing such a mix of reviews on this site I felt compelled to add mine. This hotel is frequently listed as a three star hotel, that is not the case. I think it likes to think it is because it has a... more

We were in La Crosse for a group collector's meeting, located at the hotel. My husband and I stayed at the Best Western for 2 nites. The room was tastefully done. It is an older motel that has been re-furbished, and that adds a bit to the charm of the place. Our room overlooked the Wisconsin River, and it is... more

We had three negative experiences with the hotel staff: 1. We were disappointed that the restaurant closed at 8:30pm - that seemed extremely early to us. When we asked the person at reception for a restaurant suggestion, the only thing she could come up with was the "24-hour Perkins down the street." When we asked for another suggestion, she said,... more

My husband stays at the riverfront every month for business. He gets a great rate and he feels it is a nice place to stay. So I decided along with my cousin, daughter, son and son in law to join him for 4 days. We had reserved a room with a river view. We had a small patio with two... more

1 I booked a "River view" room. From where I was I could barely see the river. 2 The heater was noisey and only high speed worked. I told the front desk 3 times in 2 days and it was never fixed. 3 Half the time the room amenities were not replaced. 4 When I asked to see a Manager,... more

Best thing about this hotel was the free shuttle. My room was at least two blocks from the front desk with 3 sets of two double doors to negotiate with all my luggage and no one to assist. My room was filthy. bathroom counter had toothpaste rings on it (yes they came off - but what else was lurking there... more

Bought on Hotwire for $64+tax. The hotel is old and very very worn out. Hotwire rates this a 3 start hotel. It is not. The first room they gave me was on the ground floor and the window would not stay shut - despite the make-shift bar welded in place to prevent the window from opening (room #141). Thank goodness... more

Just finished a one-night stay here, at what hotwire listed as a 3-star property. Perhaps 15 years ago this would've been true, but certainly not now. Among the many problems: -Toilets flush inconsistently, with water raising to top of bowl before going down -Entire waterpark area shut down!! They told me they were unable to get ahold of me to... more

We stayed at the BW one night because of the water park. We had little kids with us this time who wanted the water slide option. We usually stay at the Stoney Creek Inn. The hotel is very nice. The person at the front desk didn't have much for personality but he wasn't rude either. He was effecient. The water... more
