A beautiful, tastefully renovated house in a quiet, historic small town very close to Madison, the Wisconsin River, and Spring Green. Karis was so welcoming, we could have stayed and chatted all day. Our room was relaxing and quiet. We really enjoyed the stream on the grounds. Would love to return for another visit.

Staying at the Walking Iron is truly a step back in time. The restoration of this fine old Victorian home is outstanding. Our room was the Doctor’s Study. It was loaded with artifacts of the period when the house was where locals came to see the town doctor. You can not stay there without developing a respect of the attention... More

My husband and I have been booking overnight stays at Walking Iron B&B for about 7 years now. We love the beautiful, historic décor, and very much appreciate that no TVs or electronics are obvious - that's one of the things we're trying to escape. The rooms are spotless, and the double jacuzzi hot tubs alone are worth the price... More

We have stayed at this B & B three times now and everytime it was wonderful. The rooms are lovely, the food excellent, the hostess was extremely friendly and helpful. The only thing is that they do not have any shampoo, lotion or soap in the rooms. The first time we were there they had it, the second time I... More

The GOOD - Home was wonderfully refurbished and decorated. Room was charming and bath area was sumptious. The AVERAGE - Breakfast was nicely plated, but food was only average. The POOR - The owners only greet guests between the hours of 3 and 5 PM. STRANGE for a B&B. We arrived around 6:00 PM on a Friday. A note and... More

Walking Iron is charming. Our room was comfortable, quiet and clean. Great two person shower and a personal hot tub in the bathroom. Sauna downstairs! Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Though a very small town, Mazo is a good location and close to many activities.

We had a wonderful time. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was dee-lish-us! The grounds, with Bear Creek running through, are beautiful. We love the proximity to Spring Green and American Players' Theater.

My daughter and I met half way at Walking Iron for a wonderful girls weekend. We loved the decor and the food was amazing! Karissa and David are the best hosts. Walking Iron B & B is a beautiful place to stay with gracious hosts. The location is exquisite in early autumn and is near Spring Green, Wisconsin. You can enjoy theatre productions at American Player's Theatre in summer and early autumn. The B & B is easy walking distance from The Old Feedmill, a charming local restaurant. Cheese and apple... The rennovation of this historic home has resulted in a perfect Bed and Breakfast. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Our room (Doctor's Study ) was comfortable and unique. Breakfast was superior. It is close to the Frank Lloyd Wright house and House on the Rock, and also Madison. Walk to the Old Feed Mill for dinner. It is... More
