Our stay at Helms was fun. Our rooms were ground level, opening into the grass back yard that fronts Lake Michigan.

The staff is great, always friendly, and always ready to help.

The location is great. You are literally a few hundred feet from the center or Sister Bay. You are also right next door to the city beach and city harbor/marina. The location is great.

Rumor has it that Helms has been sold and will be developed into a new condo development, which seem to be spreading with great speed throughout the Sister Bay area. This speculation seems to have merit- the rooms while clean, are old. They are in need of a major updating. So as an owner, do you spend millions updating the rooms or sell for millions to a condo developer????

Internet access- Helms charges way too much to access the internet via their one laptop computer in the community room. Luckily, lake-side rooms can pick up the free wifi from Sister Bay marina.
