This was the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. The bathroom shower curtain had mold and there was urine on the floor. The rooms are old and musty and very dark. Stayed here before and after a backcountry hike into the Tetons. A quintessential 1960's motel that has been kept up very nicely. Away from the craziness of downtown Jackson Hole. We were only there for one night. The price for the stay was very reasonable for the area. It was older but in a good location and well maintained. I booked this hotel because the price was attractive for the very expensive Jackson area, I wish I had not. The property is very old and run down and we did not feel safe. I would spend the extra money and stay somewhere else. It was not worth the $119.00 per night, I wanted to check out right away!! more

My wife & I stayed for three mights because the wedding hosts routed their guests to the Virginian. During that same trip we stayed at other lodges in other locations as well, and in every case the others offered much more for about $40 less per night than what the Virginian charged. Coffee maker? During our three week US-roundtrip the Virgininian Lodge was our priciest and also our most disappointing stay. You just get too little for too much money (even considering the fact that luxurious Jackson Hole is part of the package).
