This hotel has been updated, but we could tell the carpeting was put over a floor that should have been repaired first. We had a ground room floor and as you walked across it it would squeak in several places. I came in after a week in the wilderness successfully hunting Elk, had missed the last plane out and randomly selected the Painted Buffalo Inn to see if they had a room on ground floor where I could park my car close and haul in my gear for the night. Nothirng fancy, but for the money it gives you a clean room in downtown Jackson. Our neighbors were quiet, the front desk was helpful and it was a quick walk down to the center of town. I would recommend it for a night, but not for an extended stay. more

I found the Painted Buffalo online and I decide to go for it, because prices were good according to other places in Jackson at this time. I had so much fun staying right in the heart of town, where I was able to experience and enjoy Jackson Hole. The knowledgeable staff helps from where to get lunch or dinner to assassinating me in getting on the mountain to go skiing. We recently stayed two nights at the Painted Buffalo Inn. It was good for my family. Our room had two queen beds that were comfortable. The decor was a little dated but it was clean. Front desk friendly but. . . they start at $189 and then play make a deal secretly so other customers don't hear. Cute motel on the outside, nice pool, but BAD rooms -- very dated and worn out.
