We were looking to stay in Saratoga, WY as a part of our trip cross country because we wanted to enjoy their famous natural hot springs. There aren't many hotels / motels in Saratoga, but we ended up choosing the Sage and Sand because it was the closest proximity to the hot springs (about three blocks) and its cheap price... more

Price was best in town and the managers are working hard to up grade all the rooms. New bath towels are nice and fluffy, offered us older towels to take to the Hobo baths. Sharon & Charlie more

When we came to town we just found the first hotel we could. After one night we started looking for another place to stay. It didnt take long to settle in at the Sage and Sand. This experience has taught me NEVER to procrastinate getting a hotel room again!!! The rest of the town was full and I'm not picky, so . . . If this has been "remodeled" it was in 1954. Saratoga, Wyoming is a very small town at a high elevation between mountain ranges. Fleas and cockroaches do not live in this elevation. The motel walls are concrete block, certainly not thin enough to hear through. When the motel first opened 50 years ago, it was advertised as totally fire proof and safe because of the concrete block construction under...

Arrived at 11am and woke the managers, they came to the office in their pajamas! Didn't clean the rooms, bathrooms were filthy, sheets stained, wouldn't empty the garbage. No kleenex, no toilet paper. Customer service was lousy, felt like we were intruding!! more

My apology to the reviewer who received bad service at the Sage and Sand. New managers with youthful energy and entusiasm took over in March and April 2007, replacing the managers that seemed not to care much about guest services. Many upgrades have been performed this year and last, including wireless Internet, video security, new bedspreads an d relacement matress...

Stop #2 of our US to Canada 6-day drive. Well, what can I say? This is a throw back to the 50's, just like the website stated. I was actually drawn to it for that reason. Jailed in Saratoga? It only proves the old adage that you cannot please everyone no matter how hard you try. In reality, the month of August is very, very busy and this may have been the only room available. We do have some cheaper rooms for two at the motel. They are not cells, but they are small. The others...
